The 7 Master Chakras

Eliminating blockages & the Law

While discussing the Master Chakras, we have discussed the various gemstones, essential oils, nature's phenomena etc which stabilise the chakras. The next 2 posts will be on certain additional issues on this subject which will be helpful in keeping the chakras free of blockage.

In my posts on The Law, I had mentioned the importance of the attitude of Allowing for success in manifestation. The attitude of Allowing - unbiased acceptance is a very powerful tool in keeping the chakras balanced and energised. By deliberately adopting this attitude, we open ourselves to the vibrational plane of our higher self which keeps us in good health and happy. Our higher self is that part of us which connects us to the the Universal Energy - the Divine. You, then, are in the hands of a power that is all knowing and that which is not limited by time and space.

When our chakras are partially open, we will be able to receive energies quite a bit but will be handicapped in transmitting those vibrations which will attract constructive energies. We will find it difficult to ward off the negative energies infiltrating us from the environment. In this state exposure to a hostile, unpleasant or negative environment causes the chakras to constrict blocking energy flow.

Staying in the attitude of Abundance is another thought process which keeps the chakras open and healthy. To recapitulate, we had discussed under the posts on The Law that jealousy is an emotion whose seed lies in the mindset of "Lack" or limited availability of resources - there is not enough for everyone. This causes a feeling of ill will towards others and chokes up our chakras. The energy flow is blocked.  Try what we may, The Law is not going to work.

In a nutshell, for deliberate application of the Law every time, the chakras must be open.

I am sure that we have conceived the necessity of integrated development of mind, body and

The 7 Master Chakras

Diagnosing blocked chakras - II

The fourth method is a variation of Kinesiological test. Place your left hand palm over a chakra. Close your thumb and forefinger of the right hand to form a circle. Take the help of another person and ask him to prise your closed fingers open. If he meets with resistance, then that particular chakra is fine. Repeat the test with other chakras.

The fifth method is observing your sleeping habits. People living primarily in the root chakra will tend to sleep for 10 to 12 hours on their stomach. Those who live primarily from their sacral chakra sleep for 8 to 10 hours in prenatal position. People living from their solar plexus chakra sleep for 7 to 8 hours on their back. Those living from their heart chakra sleep for about 6 hours on their left side. Those living from their throat chakra sleep for about 5 hours resting on the left and the right side alternately. A person living from the third eye chakra will spend about 4 hours between sleep and waking sleep. Waking sleep is a state where the body rests while inner consciousness is maintained. A person living from the crown chakra hardly needs any sleep. Such a person rests his body periodically.

The other direct methods of assessing the chakras, like aura watching, energy body sensing, pendulum dowsing etc., require intense practice.

This concludes the posts on "Diagnosing Chakra blockages".

The 7 Master chakras

Diagnosing blocked chakras - I

Working with the chakras is a journey of self discovery. In this journey, quite often what we find out about self which will not be pleasant, if not bitter. But then we become aware of the darker side of our self for our necessary action.

How do we know which chakra(s) is blocked? We will explore various methods in the next 2 or 3 posts.

The first method is based on the symptoms discussed in previous posts under the 7 major chakras for malfunctioning of the chakras or eeak chakras. We need to watch out for appearance of these symptoms.

The second method consists of noticing how we behave under conditions of extreme stress. If your root chakra is deficient, you may wobble as if the rug is getting pulled out from under your feet. If the root chakra is overheated you may get angry and become aggressive as an immediate reaction. A deficient sacral chakra will make you feel impassive while an over active chakra will cause uncontrolled display of emotions. A weak solar plexus chakra manifests into nervousness and queasiness in the stomach. A heated chakra generates a feeling of nervous irritability and hyperactivity. Fluttering of heart under excessive duress indicates a weak heart chakra. A racing heart indicates a hyperactive heart chakra. Stuttering or a constriction in the throat indicates a weak throat chakra. Unconsidered chattering indicates a hyperactive throat chakra. A weak third eye chakra is indicated by fuzzy thinking. An over active chakra often results into headaches.

The third method is usually known as kinesiological test. You will need the help of another person to execute the test. Place the right hand palm on a chakra and extend the left hand at right angles to the body with fingers extended and palm facing downward. Ask the other person to try pressing the left arm by pushing at the wrist. If the other person feels resistance, the chakra is fine else it is not functioning properly. Move the right palm to the next chakra and repeat the test. Make sure that the left arm is adequately rested between testing the chakras.

More methods in next posts.

Bye.

The Crown or Sahasrara chakra

The seventh chakra, Crown chakra, is known as Sahasrara chakra in Sanskrit.

It is located in the middle of the head at the highest point.

It opens upwards.

It's color is predominantly violet and mixed with white.

Cerebrum is associated with this chakra.

Pineal gland is associated with Crown chakra.

It is the seat of highest human perfection. Here we are one with the divinity.

While we are able to consciously influence the activation of the six lower chakras, the functioning of the seventh chakra is beyond our influence. There are no blockages in this chakra. It can only be developed to a greater or lesser extent.

The fully awakened state of this chakra, generates a heavenly serenity. You remain untouched. You are one with the divine. A child remains in this state till the age of 24 months.

In its fully awakened state, this chakra does not absorb energy bur radiates it. A bright white or golden halo of energy will be perceivable around the head.

A lesser awakened Sahasrara chakra may generate a sense of senselessness in your life. To escape this feeling, one may bury himself in intense activites and in the process burn out. Fear of death is the most common symptom of the weak state of this chakra.

Staying on the peak of a mountain and closer to the sky is very helpful in energising this chakra

Amethyst and Rock crystal are two gemstones which enhances this chakra.

The incense sticks made out of Olibanum tree bark is very good. The scend of lotus flower is also very helpful

Meditate on this chakra everyday. See a ball of bright white energy ball floating over your head. Allow it to grow till it covers your head and shoulders. Hold for 10 minutes. Ease out .

The Third Eye or Ajna chakra

The sixth chakra, Third Eye chakra, is known as Ajna chakra in Sanskrit.

It is located one finger breadth above the bridge of the nose in the centre of the forehead.

It opens to the front. It has also a counterpart opening backwards.

It's colour is indigo.

It is associated with face, eyes, ears, nose, sinuses, cerebellum, central nervous system.

It is associated with the Pituitary gland. The secretions from this gland control the functioning of other glands. It is also called the "Master" gland.

The Ajna chakra is the seat of our memory, will and intellect.

Every realisation of our lives is preceded by thoughts. We are connected to the process of manifestation through the Third Eye Chakra. It  is here that we create new realities and dissolve old ones. However, mostly we do not control the creation and dissolution process. It happens by default - by our emotional patterns, the way we think, opinions of others etc. For living a enlightened life, we need to control this process deliberately for which we will need to open our Ajna chakra and keep it in balance.

An open and harmonious Ajna chakra causes development of capabilities for intuition, clairvoyance etc. Advanced intellectual skills, holistic pursuit of scientific research, recognition of far reaching philosophical truths etc indicate an open and harmonious Ajna chakra.

A dis-harmonious Third Eye chakra can cause a person to be exclusively dependent on his intellect and rationality. Such a human being does not accept anything beyond what is perceived by the physical senses or proven by scientific stipulations. Spiritual reflections and discussions are waste of time.

A weakly functioning Third Eye chakra will also cause forgetfulness. The weak health of this chakra also results into impaired vision.

The Ajna chakra is stimulated by looking at the clear starry night sky.

Lapis lazuli, Indigo-blue sapphire and sodalite are some gemstones which help in healing this chakra.

The fragrances of Mint and Jasmine also help in keeping this chakra balanced.

Meditate once a week on Third Eye chakra. Visualise a deep blue or indigo energy pulsating brightly inside your forehead. Visualise it growing bigger and brighter and filling up you entire upper head. Hold for 10 minutes. Let go.

The Throat or Vishuddha chakra

The fifth chakra , Throat chakra, is known as Vishuddha chakra in Sanskrit.

It is located between the depression in the neck and the larynx.

It opens toward the front and has a counterpart which opens toward the back as well.

It's colour is pale blue.

It is associated with neck, throat, jaw, ears, voice, trachea, bronchial tube, upper lungs, oesophagus and arms.

Thyroid is its associated gland. Thyroid gland, via our metabolism,  regulates the manner and speed of transformation of food into energy. It plays an important role in the growth of the skeleton and inner organs.

The Throat chakra is the centre of our capacity for communication, expression and inspiration. It bridges our thoughts and feelings. Through this chakra we express our laughing and crying, love, happiness, anxiety and aggressiveness, intentions and desires etc.

With an open Throat chakra, you will freely express yourself and reveal your weaknesses without a sense of insecurity. Your speech will be interesting and clear. You will say "no" very clearly if that's what you mean. You will listen to other opinions of others but will not allow them to sway you or manipulate you without your considered consent. You will maintain your independence, freedom and self-determination.

Dis-harmony in the Vishuddha chakra causes either blatant and coarse language or cool and businesslike language. You may also stutter. The voice is comparatively louder. You will always try to appear strong thus putting yourself under grave pressures. Non stop chattering is another indicator of dis-harmony in this chakra. You may be privy to deep knowledge on a subject but will hesitate to express on it for fear of judgement of others.

Inadequate functioning of this chakra causes a person to be shy, quiet and withdrawn, and when you talk it will be bout trivialities. If such a person tries to talk about deeper feelings and thoughts, he will stutter severely and simply choke up.

Look at the cloudless blue sky directly or at a reflection of it on clear water.

Aquamarine, Turquoise and Chalcedony are some gemstones which help in balancing Throat Chakra.

The fragrance of Sage and Eucalyptus helps in keeping this chakra clear.

While meditating visualise a bright pale blue color - the colour of sky - energy ball pulsating in your Throat chakra. Visualise it growing bigger and brighter so that it fills you throat and mouth. Hold for 10 minutes. Withdraw.

You can listen to this music while meditating. Use earphones.

I do this meditation once a week.

The Heart or Anahata chakra

The fourth chakra is located in the center of the breast at the height of the heart.

It opens towards the front. It has a counterpart which opens towards the back.

It's colour is green or pink.

Anahata is associated with heart, upper back, including the thorax and the thoracic cavity, the lower lungs, blood and blood circulation system and skin.

Thymus is its associated gland. Thymus stimulates and strengthens the immune system and controls the lymphatic system.

It is the centerpiece of the chakra systems and connects the the three lower chakras with the upper three chakras.

The capability to empathize with others rests here. The capability to perceive the beauty in nature, harmony in music, appreciate visual arts and poetry rests here. The capabilty to love rests here.

An open heart chakra manifests the emotion of unconditional love. This love takes the form of divine worship when the upper chakras are also in balance.
The energy of Heart chakra streams out very strongly and can have a big healing effect on self and others. With an open heart chakra, you will radiate warmth, sincerity and happiness. Comapssion and willingness to help come perfectly natural to you. Your love becomes unconditional without expectations of any quid pro quo.

With a malfunctioning Anahata, you always expect recognition and reassurance  in return for the "love" you give, and feel deeply disappointed when your efforts are not appreciated and recognised. You will also have difficulty in receiving. Tenderness makes you uncomfortable.

A weak heart chakra makes you susceptible to hurt on getting rejected. And for the very fear of getting rejected, you behave impersonally - putting up walls so that your love is not displayed.

Look at green fields. Look at flowers - specially the pink colored ones. Look at the colour of clouds when the sun sets or rises.

Gemstones like Rose Quartz, Tourmaline, Kunzite, Emerald and Jade help in balancing the heart chakra.

Fragrances of attar of roses helps in healing the heart chakra.

Meditate on the heart chakra once a week. Follow the meditation procedure as described under the other chakras. Visualise a bright pink ball of energy pulsating in your Anahata. Visualise it growing bigger and brighter. Visualise it filling you entire chest. Hold for 10 minutes. Withdraw.

You can listen to the music piece with earphones while meditating.

The Solar Plexus or Manipura chakra

The third chakra known as Solar Plexus chakra or Manipura chakra in Sanskrit,  is located two finger breadths above the navel. It opens towards the front. It has a counterpart which opens towards the back.

Its colour is yellow.

It is associated with the element Fire.

It is associated with lower back, abdomen, digestive system, stomach, liver, spleen, gall bladder, autonomic nervous system.

It's associated gland is pancreas which plays an important role in digestion of food. Pancreas secretes insulin which regulates blood sugar.

It is our power centre which absorbs the solar energy and vitalises our physical body. We radiate our emotional energy from this chakra. Our interpersonal relationships, our likes and dislikes are mostly controlled by this chakra.

It is a chakra which transforms the desires and wishes of the lower chakras into higher form and manifests the spiritual energy of higher chakras into the physical world.

Our mood depends on the functioning of this chakra.  When we feel happy, full of joy and optimistic, the third chakra is open. We feel depressed and pessimistic, the third chakra is blocked.

Through this chakra we perceive others' vibrations. On sensing negative vibrations, this chakra contracts.

A harmonious Manipura chakra creates inner peace and harmony.  You allow the character traits of others. You accept yourself the way you are.

A malfunctioning third chakra makes you manipulative. You want the manipulate everything in accordance with your wishes and control everything. You have a feeling of discontent and restlessness. You find it difficult to let go and relax. You get upset and agitated easily. The root cause lies in experiences of lack of acceptance in growing years of childhood and preteen years.

A weak third chakra will make you dejected and discouraged easily. You tend to focus on obstacles. You look for external approval and acceptance. When faced with a difficult situation you will tend to be uncertain and nervous leading you to disorganized actions. Out of the way experiences scare you.

Do not let go of any opportunity to look at fields of ripe wheat bathed in sunlight.

Gemstones like Tiger's Eye, Amber, Topaz and Citrine help in cleaning and stabilising Manipura chakra.

Fragrances of Lavender, Rosemary and Bergamot will also help.

If you want to balance Manipura, sit in any of the meditation postures discussed in earlier posts on Meditation and Breathing. Visuaise a golden yellow ball of light resting in your Manipura chakra. See it growing bigger and brighter and finally covering he upper abdomen. Hold. The complete meditation should take no more than 10 minutes. You can practise longer if you so wish.

I prefer to do this meditation once a week.

You can also put on you earphone, and listen to the music piece below while doing this meditation.
