Wooden on Leadership
John Robert Wooden. Basketball player and coach. Enshrined in the Hall of Fame as a player in 1961 and as a coach in 1973. Became a legend as a coach.
As a coach, won 10 national championships - a record. 7 of these titles were won in a row - a record. In the process won 88 matches consecutively - a record. Four perfect seasons - a record. Only one losing year - his first - in 41 years of coaching.
Some achievement that. Who could be a better management coach on team work than he? This book gives deep insight into his principles - principles that can be adopted into any organization for making it a winning organisation. This book is full of nuggets on leadership and team work.
The titles of a few chapters read "Good values attract good people", "It takes 10 hands to score a basket", "Little things make big things happen", "Make each day your masterpiece", "Make greatness attainable by all" and many more. I consider these as the timeless principles for any leader.
Take a guided tour into the complex world of leadership.
