The Law
Revisiting - XVI
Unless one acts, there is no reaction. Unless one sows, there is no fruit to be reaped. You need to move to progress towards abundance. I am not talking about knee jerk actions or reckless actions. Having acquired knowledge and information, chart out a plan of action. Your plan need not be foolproof. They seldom are. Do not get into the trap of acquiring knowledge perfectly before you chart a plan of action. You will never be perfect for there is no perfectness. Do not fall into the trap of procrastinating in taking action on the plea of collecting information. Acquiring a modicum of knowledge and information that gives you comfort for taking the first few steps should be sufficient to start the journey. Have your mentors in place. Seek their assistance in taking the first steps. Once you start moving, you will get new information and feedback on the course chosen. You should be clear that your goals are not negotiable. You will be surprised at the supporting resources that will be made available to you.
Do not apprehend a slippage. Slippages will come. It is normal. They come irrespective of your degree of preparation because of the vast amount of variables involved, some of which could be beyond your sphere of influence. The secret is in getting up after a fall and get going again. The strength to do so is abundantly available within you. You have to marshal your resilience power to move again. Do not waste time in replaying the fall. This will depress you and shake up your confidence. Learn from the fall and push ahead. Do not listen to your friends who tell you "I told you so". There will be some who will laugh at you. There may be some who will draw pleasure out of your fall. Do not worry about their perception. You do not need to bottle up yourself because of their opinions. Wish them well and push ahead. You have a clear goal ahead of you. And you have enough strength within you to take the falls in your stride. Take the next step. Always remember that action opens up more opportunities and makes more resources available to you for moving towards your goal.
I have mentioned about a different perspective for looking at failure in my last post. Unless you learn to accept a failure, you are not going to have the fuel to push forward. I will give you another perspective to look at a slippage. Say you are currently at point A. You are targeting to reach a higher point B. You have taken necessary preparatory steps to bridge the gap. Still then you do not get to reach point B. Hey, nothing has changed. You are till at point A or higher. The world has not crashed around you. So all that you need to do is to learn from the previous slippage and make another go to reach point B, may be in a different way. When I say that you must accept that you may fail, I do not mean that you should expect a failure. The moment you start expecting failure, you will attract failure. You will do all that is necessary to ensure that you succeed. You may not succeed, inspite of all your preparations, because of too many variables or some variables not considered by you or a sudden change in environment. When this happens don't paralyse yourself. Think, learn. strategise and take the next action.
When you serve others the right way, you open the doors of abundance for yourself. The term "service to others" has been interpreted differently by different people. I have two determining qualities which define "service to others" for me.
Firstly, I do not recommend that you encourage the practice of giving alms - "bheekh" in hindi. You should not encourage anything which sustains the livelihood of others on alms. Yes, there are times when alms will have to be given, but they are more in the form of distributing food, clothes etc to people affected by abnormal occurrences such as famine, natural disaster, wars etc. When these happen, distributing relief becomes necessary for limited period. Instead of giving alms, I recommend that help someone to get on his feet and live independently on his own efforts. This is indeed much more challenging task than giving away alms, which is probably the easiest thing to do in the hope of accruing some credit points in your spiritual account. When you make someone stand on his or her feet, you are making a difference. When you are giving alms, you are fostering scarcity in the life of the other.
Secondly, any service given or received must be compensated. Do not give a service or receive a service free of cost. Do not remain in obligation or keep others obliged. The compensation need not be in money terms. It can be in any form, mutually agreed by both sides. When I enable education of under privileged children to a level where they become professionals and independent, I put a compensation tag. The price which I ask is that each one of them will take charge of at least one under privileged child when they start earning. This has worked wonderfully well. the greatest upside has been the maintenance of dignity of these kids as all their dues are settled. Everyone lives with his held high with dignity and contentment. I repeat, Do not encourage obligation. Settle all dues. The best relationships are balanced ones.
I am attaching a video on Law Of Attraction by Bob Proctor. It runs for about 30 minutes. It is a valuable input.
