The Law

I will be introducing two terminologies in this post - habits and mindset. In all our discussions on The Law, we are talking of doing somethings differently. Easier said than done. We need to understand these two terminologies well and see how we can practically use this understanding to help us grow and achieve abundance.

We, through our thoughts, are attracting things to us good or bad, beneficial or harmful, depending on what we are thinking. Depending on the state of mind, which we keep overwhelmingly, we draw abundance of heath, wealth, joy and happiness or drive them away.

We, with our physical senses, can sense and perceive only a small fragment of what exists in the universe. The greater part can not be sensed by us. That does not make the greater part fiction.

Whatever we think we make. We are making these unseen realities continually as we think. If we keep any thought, good or bad, over a prolonged period, the thought take shape in the seen and physical domain. The thought manifests.

Most of us find it difficult maintain our focus on any subject for even short periods. We allow our thoughts to play the Monkey - jumping from one branch to other, jumping from one subject to the other. We need to develop a new habit here - the habit of focusing.

Whenever I travel in a train, I try to assess the reading habits of co-travelers. I will not be far off the truth if I put a figure of 95% on proportion of travelers favor reading fictions containing racy, violent, fast paced thriller laced with sexuality. When asked on why such reading is preferred, the usual reply is that such books help them in passing time. So correct. A lot of time gets passed - wasted - this way. The greater danger is the way The Law works which these souls may not not be aware of. We need to develop a new habit here - habit of focusing on only that which draws abundance of health, wealth, joy and happiness to us.

Setting our affections for the right things is a fundamental change that we need to develop in our psyche - mindset. Brooding over ill health, a perceived injustice, a perceived insult will attract more of these. Such mood of mind may become habitual "second nature" and make us a permanent magnet for drawing in the negatives. A new habit needs to be developed to come out of such a rut.

What do we discuss in the breakfast table - crimes and scandals reported in the morning newspaper or about pleasant and happy things? A new habit needs to be developed here.

One of my close relative was suffering from cancer. It had become the norm of some of my other relatives to call her four five times a day and weeping into her ears. Unawareness of The Law could have been the primary reason for such behavior. A new habit needs to be developed here.

When I talk about power of attraction of the mind, it is not synonymous with longing for things. Longing implies impatience or lack of patience to persevere. The impatient state of mind will either drive away what we desire or delay its advance. When our thought takes the form "Why is it not coming? How long do I have to wait? I am tired of waiting" , we are inviting more of waiting period. We need to be secure in our faith that it is on its way or it has come. We need to get into a mindset which is calm and serene, confident and vibrant. Such a state of mind goes a long way in drawing in our desire. A new habit needs to be developed.

To covet the property of another person and to burden the mind with schemes for acquiring the properties of others, to seek association of rich and affluent persons with the sole aim of ticking them into parting from them some of the property for your gain retards the drawing power of the mind. To get entangled with the petty prejudices of people regarding others, to get involved in petty fights with others serves the same purpose - retarding the drawing power of mind. Sarcasm, fault finding with others, discussing about others behind their backs, nosing into others private lives retard your strength. Lot of new habits to be developed.
