Journey of the Soul - VIII
Starting this post I will try to give some structure to my understanding of the journey of the Soul. I will be having some difficulty in doing this as the communication was completely spontaneous, hap hazard, diversionary as some matters not related to our subject were raised and they will remain un-divulged, the variations in experiences of individual soul based on their evolution in the realm of souls and in few cases the limited vocabulary that we have, in expressing our understanding, causes difficulty.
What happens to the Soul after it leaves the body? There is no one-fit-all answer. The Soul's experience varies from one to the other. It depends on the nature of death, the stage of development or evolution of the Soul and surprisingly on the dominant beliefs of the Soul in the last birth. The initial experience of the Soul is temporary in nature. If I am brought up with a firm belief that I will go to hell and face pain and punishment for being a bad person, my Soul is going to go to hell. If I have lived a life with a firm belief that my God looks like ........, then my soul will meet a God who is none other than ......... If I am brought with the belief that heaven is full of flowers and music and dancing beauties, my Soul will experience such a heaven. If I have been brought up with the belief that that the Soul crosses River Baitarani for entering into heaven, there is going to be a river Baitarani flowing for my soul which I cross to enter heaven. This is the "hallucinating" phase for the Soul and temporary. My old lady said that her place was "nothing" - a void. The trials and tribulations of her last years had caused her to loose all faith on God, religious and spiritual beliefs. She did not believe in afterlife in the later phase of her life. Probably that was the reason for her heaven being void in the first instance. In our second communication she projected a different realm. The heaven or hell, are the creations of the individual souls and not of "God". Does it mean that the soul realm is nothing but hallucination? It was explained that it is a reality which has different levels based on the evolution of the souls. The perception of the heaven, in the initial days of the new Soul, differs from soul to soul based on its tendencies, beliefs. The souls have the opportunity to come out of this phase of perception with the help of guidance provided by the spirit guides. To accept the guidance is the Soul's choice.
In her last communication, the lady explained that the realm of Soul is peaceful, serene and calm. It is free of worries, pain, all negativities. It is independent of time. There is no age. Each soul can perceive itself in its best liked image. Each soul can create its own environment by its thought and change the environment with thought. That is the soul realm is transient. The reality is self created.
Dr. Moody in his book, Life After Life, could conclude very few common phenomena in the NDEs of hundreds of cases. It appears that the reason for this phenomenon could be the individual "hallucinations". It is not correct on my to use the word "hallucination" when these are real experiences for the souls, but then i have no better word in my vocabulary.
The initial period in the soul realm is usually a period of confusion and restlessness except for the souls who have advanced well. The Soul does not realise that it has separated from the physical body. It perceives its shape in the form of the physical body which it has left. Some souls, who are attached to their physical body and earthly possessions try to cling to the physical body and the earth environment. Some souls who did not believe in afterlife during their last life, are not able to reconcile to their continuity in a different plane and tend to go to a state of deep slumber like a coma. They take much longer period to realise the reality and proceed from there. one impression that I received was that almost all souls go through a period of slumber after detaching from the physical body for a short periods. The difficulty is in understanding the meaning of the word "short" as the frames of reference of time in soul realm and earth environment are entirely different.
The Soul, after detaching from the physical body, meets its well wishers, who may be relatives, friends or acquaintances, from the last life and from previous lives. There are also a few Souls, who may be termed as teachers and guides. These souls try to smoothen out the process of reconciliation of the new Soul to the soul realm. The ultimate choice of following their advice lies with the Soul. It is free to choose.
The old lady experienced a bright ball of light which was pulsating. She was guided to move towards the Light. She followed her friends and guides to the light. Then she entered into a bright void, her realm. In her second communication her experience of the realm had changed. In earth life, there is a time lag between thought and its manifestation. In soul realm the manifestation of thought happens instantly. This becomes a difficult area for a new soul. It finds its environment changing rapidly according to its thought. Its environment in that period is highly transient. It soon learns to regulate its thought to stabilise its environment according to its own free will. There are no permanent structures in its realm. The laws are far less limiting than the earthly ones. The Soul has to learn to understand and use this freedom. Those, who believed in afterlife, will face much less challenges in adapting to the new realm, much easier and joyful. For others it may take some time to adapt.
It appears obvious that there is no common afterlife reality that fits all. I was given a piece of communication which was very educative. This lady suffered from acute arthritis and rheumatism. Her soul carried the same issues after her death. She felt the pangs of pain as she had felt in her physical body. She gradually realised that she in her present form is whole and free of all illnesses and pain. Her teachers and guides helped her on realising the new reality which freed her from all her earthly afflictions.
The Soul, after its release from the physical body, continues to perceive itself in the same shape and form with all its contours. With the help of the spirit guides, it gradually realises that it has no definite physical shape and that it can take any shape that it chooses to take and change its shape when it chooses to change. The old Lady, that I saw, had no freckles on her face as she had in her physical form. I perceived her face as smooth and soft.
After the initial settling in comes the preparation phase for the next step to evolution of the Soul. The spirit guides, themselves highly evolved souls, provide the necessary inputs after reviewing the progression of the Soul in all its past incarnations. The reviews are witnessed by the concerned Soul in the form of images which it perceives at a very rapid pace. Its over-riding tendencies are assessed and further course of evolution suggested by the guides. The choice is with the Soul. It is free to choose its course of evolution.
The Soul may reincarnate in the earthly form, may chose to go to some other planet or galaxy, may continue to stagnate in the realm of soul in its present level of evolution. I could not understand the time frame, if at all there is one, within which a Soul reincarnates. I could understand that some souls opt for another immediate reincarnation to earthly form without going through the review of its past incarnations, preparation and education phase provided by the guides. These souls are either anxious to complete their unfulfilled tasks in the last incarnation or anxious to correct some damage which they had inflicted in the last incarnation or are not able to stay away from their earthly attachments.
I was explained the review phase in some detail. On entering the soul realm and after crossing the initial hallucination and slumber phase, the souls experience a review of their past incarnations. The review is done by a rapid display of images of all activities of the Soul. Nothing can be hidden. This, I was explained, is indeed a very painful exercise for the souls who have done bad deeds in their last incarnations and have not corrected their bad deeds in the last incarnation itself i.e. who have not restored the balance. There is no judgement by anyone. It is fully self judgement. The souls feel their regret and pain and develop the urge to correct the mistakes. This becomes a basis for their decision on their next step of evolution. The spirit guides are present in these review sessions to provide guidance.
