In the last post, the first rule mentioned was "Like attracts like."

I will explain the phenomenon with two examples. The first example is a real life one. I have seen similar incidents happening repetitively. One of my young colleagues wanted a change in his career. He prepared himself academically well. He completed one of the best advanced certification courses available in his subject of choice and secured almost 100 percent in the examination. Skillwise he was ready to jumpstart his career. He received interview calls one after other. Everything stopped there. Nothing more happened. My friend was getting desperate, frustrated and depressed. His self worth was eroding rapidly. It was then that we had a discussion. The problem was not with his skills but it was in his mind. He was not sure that he was worthy of a much higher paying and fulfilling job. It took us some time to set right the way he thought. I still remember that early morning call from him when he said he has been offered a good job. He was so happy and joyous. His faith in himself started to rebuild. And then the flood gates opened. Job offers started to come to him one after other. Today he is one of the best in his calling.

The second is a very common phenomenon. The day starts badly. What happens then? The day becomes bad to worse. Traffic jams up when you go to work. The school bus does not turn up so you need to drop your kid in school. You have a roaring argument with your wife. You remember something that happened in the past and your blood pressure starts shooting, your fingers ball up annd you feel like hitting someone.

Everything was initiated from thoughts. You think something. You think about the same thing repetitively.  Similar thoughts will get attracted to your thoughts and start building up the force of your thought. And then you add emotion to your thought - joy, happiness, anger, fingers curling into a ball. Voila. You have a dominant thought. The dominant thoughts manifest into a physical reality.

You will have almost one thought every second of your waking hours. Not every thought will manifest in physical reality. It is the dominant thoughts which you allow to create which manifest into reality. So it is very important that you monitor your thoughts and allow only the positive ones to become dominant. The negative ones will need to be discarded.

Two questions arise:

1) How to monitor 60000 thoughts that you have in a day or one thought per second of your waking time? I will discuss this in the next post.

2) How do you discard a negative thought? This also I will try to answer in the next post.

Today's Triggers:

1/ Guard your speech

2/ Never speak of yourself, or your affairs, in a discouraged way

3/ Never speak in a way that infers failure as a possibility
