Your journey to abundance begins from your current reality.
Your engagement in your current reality may not be your passion. They are rarely so. The general advice of the lifestyle experts is that you should identify your passion i.e. what you love to do and work towards adopting your passion as your full time engagement. The advice goes on to say that once you get engaged with your passion, once you engage full time in doing what you love to do, you will do wonders and you will be on your way to abundance.
I am, personally, not in full agreement with this piece of advice. Does it mean that if one is not in a position to adopt his passion as his full time engagement, one can not move to abundance? If that is the conclusion, then I do not agree with that conclusion. Yes, getting engaged in the passion lightens the load on our shoulders but abundance requires much more than that. The second question which I often ask in all seminars that I attend "Will the passionate engagement remain passionate once it becomes responsible for your sustenance as well?" I personally feel that one of the reasons I love to do something is because for that something there is no accountability to anyone, there is no time frame and it is not linked to my sustenance. All these factors allow me to enjoy that work. The moment the passion becomes the sole source of sustenance, I opine that the passion of the thing will go out the window. I recognise that there will be exceptions to my postulate. I am not saying that do not adopt your passion as you full time engagement. I am saying that do not get fixed with the mindset that only your passion can push you to abundance. I am saying that what you become good at may also become your passion. I am saying that you will have to become one of the best, if not the best, at something, which may or may not be your passion, to move towards abundance.
I strongly profess to use the current reality as the starting block for your progress to abundance. Your passion can remain your passion for lightening your stress and help you in thinking creatively and innovatively. This is how the people, who follow me, are creating their abundance.
Do not separate from your current job or business without finding an alternate job or business. See you current assignment as one of your sources of money that is needed to be invested to take you to abundance and provide sustenance to you and your family as you move forward. It is going to be very difficult indeed to think and work towards abundance and maintain a positive mindset without the security net of an assured earning.
Your current assignment will fund you initially, and with some improvements, could fund your entire journey to abundance in a major way.
I will repeat some points which I had made earlier.
Do not see your current assignment, till you are engaged in it, as a drab, frustrating calling. Use every opportunity to get better at it.
Do not see your current assignment as a compulsion or as a calling to which you have to drag yourself every morning and watch the clock for the rest of the day to end the day. As I had said earlier, see the current assignment as a resource which you need to amplify.
Excel in your current assignment. Research, read, learn hands-on, talk to others in the field, get nominated to seminars to increase your knowledge. The idea is to reach a level of competence where you become a "reference" resource for others. This is substantial gain as this then opens up additional opportunities for additional earning.
Go out and let others know of your expertise and competence. Write articles, look for coaching assignments, attend seminars where others in your line of expertise are present. Once you get known, the doors start opening.
Stop working by the clock. Work till you complete your day's assignments and then work some more to move towards excellence. The quality of your work should be such that it passes through all audits. This generates tremendous amount of trust in your work. Your self image zooms putting you on a roll.
I am asking you to be so good in your current assignment that when you walk in to a room, a sigh of relief is released by others in the room and a sense of confidence and comfort pervades the room with your entrance. I am asking you to be the flag bearer, a leader but not necessarily a boss.
